Boston City Charter is amended to reorganize the Boston Boston School Committee.

By a margin of some 38,500 to 32,5000, voters approve a change from a five-committee elected at-large to one of nine members elected by district and four elected at-large, with each member serving two-year terms. The changes goes into effect beginning in January 1984.
